Monday, February 16th, 2015

LOS ANGELES, California, February 16, 2015 – SynTouch LLC, developer and maker of the only sensor technology in the world that endows robots with the ability to replicate – and sometimes exceed – the human sense of touch, was today named by the Robotics Business Review (RBR) as one of the most noteworthy companies in the global robotics industry for 2015 in its fourth annual RBR50 list.

With the robotics industry more competitive than ever, new companies are popping up all the time. Of those companies, the RBR50 list outlines those who should be kept on your business radar.

RBR50 companies are recognized based on their innovation, groundbreaking application(s), commercial success and potential, and represent many different levels and facets of the robotics ecosystem.

This international compilation spans 11 countries and in addition to the large conglomerates, 20% of the list is comprised of lesser-known startups. The RBR50 list is dynamic, with robotics companies entering and leaving on an annual basis and thus creating a list that is indicative of where the global robotics industry as a whole is headed. “2015: Year of the Inflection Point in robotics. What a great time to be counted among the global best in the fastest rising industry in the world. Once again, the robotics community has done a stellar job in selecting those few to represent all,” says Tom Green, RBR Editor in Chief, “For two years now we’ve been watching SynTouch come close but no cigar; however, this year the merit of their technology has finally elevated them.”.

“SynTouch is pioneering new directions in tactile sensing from advancing the performance of prosthetic hands to developing tactile characterization standards for the design and manufacture of consumer products,” said Dr. Gerald Loeb, CEO at SynTouch. “We are grateful to the Robotics Business Review for recognizing how transformative our BioTac® and Machine Touch™ technologies will be for the future of robotics.”

SynTouch shares this recognition with several other leading robotics companies including: Amazon, Google, iRobot, and many more. See the complete list here: RBR50 List
